Activities
Our campers are growing up in an increasingly competitive and stressful world where they might opt out of trying an unfamiliar activity for risk of embarrassment or failure. Here at Camp Genesis, we expose teens to a wide variety of activities as we think it’s important for them to learn healthy and rewarding ways to spend their time. As a result, campers learn skills that they can use for life. Campers are provided with quality instruction and appropriate equipment in an environment that respects and nurtures each individual’s abilities while gently pushing them to challenge themselves in new ways.
Our highlight activity days are challenging, great fun and require patience, fortitude and teamwork skills.
These include:
- Rafting and Canoeing – an exhilarating experience
- Capture the Flag/Lantern – energetic fun and team work
- Team Building – develop communication and team skills with insightful exercises
- Kloofing – outdoor adventure
- Secret Sunrise/Sunset – empowering you to share positivity and celebrate the joys of life
- Environmental Excursions– education on biodiversity projects
- Let’s Go Zero – a campaign uniting campers as they reduce their carbon footprint
- Zip-lining – conquer your fear
- The Amazing Race Experience – map reading and orienteering
This brings together campers who want to be zero carbon and are adamant on reducing their own climate impact.
This campaign is about showing aspiration. Campers will be able to understand the role of carbon and how it cycles throughout ecosystems. As a team you’ll be setting your zero carbon targets and executes them accordingly. Key impact areas include energy use, waste, water, food and campgrounds. The actions you take will reach far beyond camp.
