In 2022, we introduced our Leaders-in-Training (LIT) program!
This program is a teen leadership training, job readiness and character development program for teens age 16-19.
In order to be a part of the LIT program, teens must complete an online application form HERE.
We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, and caring individuals who are always smiling and who enjoy the outdoors, camping and just having good clean fun.

What will teens do in the LIT Program?
Teens will support campers in villages, run the dining hall, shadow adult facilitators, and participate in workshops including: communication, conflict resolution, management, resume writing, interviewing, and youth development.
Who is it for?
Teens interested in taking on more responsibility at Camp Genesis and being a leader and role model for all campers.
What will teens get when they complete the program?
- R1500 remuneration
- A certificate of completion for your resume
- Tangible leadership skills in the following:
- Management skills
- Conflict resolution
- Problem solving skills
Whether this is your first year at Camp Genesis or you are a previous camper, we are looking for teens who will contribute to our Camp Genesis community. Our best LIT’s are team oriented, hard working, enthusiastic, motivated, and goal driven.
Requirements?
- Must be 16-19 years old
- Must be available for one full session at Camp Genesis
- Does not need to have previously been a camper or LIT

Application Overview
Part 1: Complete Application Form
Please complete the application form honestly and completely.
Note: Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
Part 2: Character Reference
Provide contact information in your application form for a reference in your life (not related to you) who can speak to your character and why you would be a good fit for the LIT program.
Part 3: Registration Fee
A registration fee of R300.00 must accompany your application and is not refundable.
Part 4: Interview
Once your application has been reviewed, you will be contacted for an interview by the Program Director.
You will be required to submit a video essays of no more than 3 minutes long.
