SCHOOL CAMPS
Our 3-day mid-week school camps are held at Buffalo Drift near Gouda, and our 3-day specialty weekend school camps are held at S.O.S. near Villiersdorp.
Our objective is to foster leadership growth in an environment that is highly driven and supportive. We seek to uncover the individual's self-awareness, so enabling them to comprehend their leadership capabilities in depth. By emphasizing Empathy, Communication, Motivation, Leadership, and most importantly Teamwork, we foster a sense of belonging by encouraging campers to become a part of something larger than themselves.
THE FORT, BUFFALO DRIFT
For mid-week school camps, we accommodate up to 110 students and 6 teachers comfortably. Our camps come fully inclusive of catering, accommodation and professional facilitation.
The campsite offers:
- Large dining/meeting hall
- Own Kitchen
- Separate male and female ablution for all campers
- Grassed playing areas
- Outside braai and campfire areas
Both sites can also make use of:
- Obstacle Course
- Teambuilding Area
- Selected Team Sports
- Canoeing
- Hiking Trails
SOS OUTDOOR CENTRE
For weekend school camps, we accommodate up to 320 students and 16 teachers comfortably. Our camps come fully inclusive of catering, accommodation and professional facilitation.
We offer 2 campsites in close proximity of each other. Both campsites offer 32 bed dormitory style accommodations.
River Campsite (Boys)
- 5 x 32-bed Dormitories
- 2-bedroom Leaders Dormitory (Sleeps 12)
- Separate 4-bedroom Cottage for Teachers (Sleeps 8)
Mountain Campsite (Girls)
- 5 x 32-bed Dormitories
- 2-bedroom Leaders Dormitory (Sleeps 12)
- Separate 4-bedroom Cottage for Teachers (Sleeps 8)
Each site offers:
- Large dining/meeting hall
- Own Kitchen
- Separate male and female ablution for all campers
- Grassed playing areas
- Outside braai and campfire areas
Both sites can also make use of:
- Natural cemented swimming pool
- Mountain walking/hiking trails
- Bundu Bash Obstacle Course
- Teambuilding Area
- Indoor & outdoor rock climbing facilities
LOCATIONS
Our mid-week school camps are based at Buffalo Drift which is nestled on the Ruigtevlei Farm located 10 km outside the town of Gouda. The picturesque working farm is set on the banks of the Berg River only 1h30 minutes from Cape Town’s CBD.
Our weekend school camps are based at SOS Outdoor Centre that is situated 7km outside Villiersdorp and over an hour’s drive away from Cape Town. The facility is surrounded with picturesque environmental beauty – offering magnificent views of the Theewaterskloof Dam.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation to and from camp is provided. Parents/guardians are not permitted to drive their children to Camp.
Camp Genesis contracts charter buses to transport campers from school to our campsites. Our service provider for Buffalo Drift is Adams Luxliner, and for SOS Outdoor Centre it's Eljosa Travel & Tours.
All buses are fitted with bucket seats and seatbelts. These buses are equipped with restrooms, air conditioning, and luggage compartments. All drivers have been background checked and are certified to transport school-age children.
School's may provide its own transportation for their students to and from camp if it has the transport solution to do so.
CAMP PROGRAM
Our camping program focuses on leadership development, building trust, team motivation, encouragement and teamwork. Our leadership coaches and facilitators are handpicked and are put to the test by leading camp with a constant source of passion, energy and enthusiasm.

BOOKINGS
Cost per camper starts from R1,250.00 (subject to approval of activities/program by school)
The cost includes:
- Accommodation for 2 nights
- 5 meals and snacks on arrival (Download Menu Options here)

- 24 hour Security included (Additional security available on request at an additional cost)
Camper application can be done through the Camp Genesis website with an exclusive registration portal for each school.
